The incumbent of the role will be responsible for providing HR leadership to support the Western Canada Branded Retail business as well lead the Regional HR team in Alberta & Midwest.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Sr Director and Wireless HRBP team in developing and implementing a number of strategic initiatives impacting the Wireless business.

The Sr. Manager HRBP supporting Branded Retail in Western Canada and the HR Regional Plan for Alberta and Mid-West and will report to the Sr.

Director HRBP for Wireless

What you will be doing :

  • HR Lead on the Alberta & Midwest Regional Executive Team (RET), accountable for driving the regional people agenda from both a strategic and tactical level and to lead on planning through to execution in collaboration with the RET and other HR Regional Leads
  • Support with ad hoc HR projects and strategic initiatives to enable performance and engagement within the Wireless organization
  • Lead, empower and develop a team of HR professionals (1 HR Manager, 2 HR Advisors)
  • Provide leadership and support for Western Canada Branded Retail business and collaborate with National Retail HRBP team to drive consistency and excellence
  • Develop talent and promote employee engagement within HR team, client groups and region
  • Provide consultation and coaching on issues related to legal and procedural compliance, employee relations (incl. overseeing management of Star Hotlines), workforce planning, talent and performance management, recruitment & selection, compensation and organizational development;
  • What you have :

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field. Master’s degree in business administration or HR would be an asset
  • 10 years progressive HR business partner experience, including working at a management level
  • Previous experience leading a high performing engaged team
  • Customer focused mindset and understanding how to set the agenda, and how to take others with them while doing it the right way
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with exceptional interpersonal and relationship building skills to gain buy in and build consensus across the organization
  • Inspirational leader and motivator who brings the best out of those around him / her
  • Experience within a complex, matrix structure and knows how to navigate the formal and informal organizational channels
  • Passionate, hard-working, dedicated, innovative and forward thinking

    Travel Requirements : Up to 10%
