The Manager of Water & Wastewater Planning will beresponsible for the strategic leadership, development, management, andadministration of planning and infrastructure management for Water andWastewater assets within the Public Works department, overseeing a group madeup of professional staff, technical specialists, and project managers.
The successfulcandidate must possess strong leadership qualities. Core competencies are as follows :

Oral and Written Communication :
The successful candidate will have a University degree inCivil Engineering or a related discipline with a minimum of five (5) to ten(10) years of progressive management experience in a Water and / or Wastewaterrelated field.
Professional Engineers designation (P.Eng) is required to reviewand stamp regulatory forms and drawings. The incumbent will have project managementexperience in order to manage various capital and operational projects.
The successfulcandidate will require technical knowledge in the areas of planning, engineering and construction ofWastewater Collection, Water Distribution, Waterand Wastewater Treatment, Water Efficiency, Hydrogeology, Source Protection,and regulatory / legislative compliance.
Knowledgeof relevant legislation and regulations including those imposed by the Ministryof Environment (MOE) and the OccupationalHealth and Safety Act is required.
The incumbent will have knowledge of theEnvironmental Assessment process to ensure master plans and Class EnvironmentalAssessments are completed in accordance with legislative requirements.
Inaddition, the successful candidate must have knowledge of financialrequirements, budgeting, cost control, and prioritization of competingpriorities in order to effectively address needs vs.
funds. Priormunicipal management experience is a definite asset.

The successful candidate will be made an offer of employment on thecondition of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and able to provide proofof vaccination.
Fully vaccinated is defined as having received the completedseries of an accepted COVID-19 vaccine, as recommended by the Office of theChief Medical Officer of Health and having received the final dose at least 14days before your employment start date.
The candidate will be asked to provide the Region with proof of fullvaccination, prior to their employment start date. Acceptable proof is aMinistry of Health Dose Administration Receipt (or such other proof ofvaccination that the Province of Ontario sanctions).

The requirement to be fully vaccinated is subject to the Ontario HumanRights Code. If the candidate is unable to vaccinate for a reason protectedby the Code, a request for accommodation can be requested and writtenproof satisfactory to the Region will be required.
This includes providing guidance anddirection by way of performance objectives and developmental opportunities.
