Your Opportunity

Stantec is looking for a highly motivated ICT consultant to join their growing, multi-disciplinary team. Responsibilities will include designing various ICT systems based on TIA / EIA / BICSI standards & industry best practices, providing in-depth technical support for qualified Stantec opportunities and technical services delivery for Stantec clients.

Key indicators of success include high levels of client satisfaction with on-site service delivery, technical support, and contractor engagement, preparing proposals, providing mentorship to an existing group of technologists and engineers and working closely with clients, contractors and suppliers.

Your Key Responsibilities

Prepare ICT tender drawings and specifications for commercial, healthcare, industrial, institutional, public and private facilities

Deliver and perform Project Management activities such as pre-engagement & post-engagement site visits, customer discovery meetings, on-site assessments, onsite reports, deliverables review, and other field activities as required.

Responsible for the electrical scope of work for all sizes of projects of high complexity

Exercises professional judgement without requiring close review

Evaluates, selects, specifies, and engineers, all electrical engineered systems or products for a project

Engages in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats

Represents the electrical team in client meetings, at the direction of more senior personnel, with a manner that meets or exceeds Stantec’s professional standards

Confidently prepares written reports and / or delivers presentations to Clients

Utilizes BIM technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of building’s electrical systems and provides markups for junior engineers

Prepares and revises documentation in various electrical phases including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.

Leads project coordination meetings with internal team members and / or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors

Participates in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating

Leads the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents

Serve as technical resource lead to subordinate Field Engineers and others in assigned work group. Provide technical advice, guidance, training and input to the review and evaluation of performance.

Assist with resource planning, work prioritization and documentation of regional processes and guidelines

Liaison and coordinating with external and internal clients to obtain and develop engineering projects

Preparing proposals and cost estimates

Developing schedules, work breakdown, project tasks and project execution

Prepare project documents, specifications and capital cost estimates

Project Management to control design budgets and cost control monitoring

Prepare engineering reports, tender and construction drawings and documents

Design reviews of the team in order to ensure that their work is properly checked in accordance with Stantec Consulting Ltd. and client standards

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Requisite knowledge and application of the Canadian Electrical Code and applicable building and energy codes

Strong understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications including through tendering and contract administration phases

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards

Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule

Ability to participate and collaborate in project team setting and to engage in creative and critical thought

Thorough understanding of electrical engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others

Thorough knowledge of TIA / EIA / BICSI standards & best practices

Good interpersonal skills required for internal team interfaces

Excellent verbal communication and technical writing skills required

Experience using AutoCAD or Revit is required.

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in electrical engineering along with a minimum 8 years’ relevant experience related to Information Communications Technology (ICT).

Licensed Professional Engineering license is an asset. LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.
