The Wireless Administrator collaborates closely with other members of the Network Operations team to support the University's wireless (Wi-Fi) communication network, across the SFU Burnaby, Surrey and Vancouver campuses.
Plans, installs and manages the network(s) and servers; identifies, troubleshoots and resolves network problems; configures, installs, supports and monitors a wide range of hardware and software solutions;
and provides a variety of technical support services for the University community. With an emphasis on network virtualization and software designed networking (SDN), provides technical support to senior engineers in the design, implementation and maintenance of a complex communication infrastructure.
Bachelor's degree in Computing Science or related discipline, and two years of related experience in wireless administration, configuration and maintenance in a complex infrastructure environment, and problem diagnosis and resolution, or an equivalent level of education, training and experience.
Knowledge of specific networking environments including ArubaOS and JUNOS.
Knowledge of specific operating systems including Windows, macOS, iOS, and Android.
Demonstrated skill in basic network engineering, problem diagnosis and resolution.
Demonstrated skill in Radio Frequency (RF), problem diagnosis and resolution.
Demonstrated skill in configuring and maintaining complex infrastructure environments.
