Job Summary:

Provides support to the Supply Chain department through the oversight of all inventory movement within the plant and ensuring optimal inventory levels on hand at all times. Oversee outgoing shipments to ensure customers are receiving all products according to their purchase orders and material releases.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma, some post-secondary preferred
  • Courses taken in Inventory Control and/or Supply Chain Management
  • 1-3 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably automotive)
  • Experience in an inventory control position
  • Knowledge of Quality standards - IATF 16949

Essential Functions:

    • Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
    • Work with customers regarding releases which includes verifying ASN/EDI transmissions, reviewing and correcting the CUM differences, entering manual releases when necessary, inquiring about fluctuations and changes
    • Maintain the daily / weekly production schedule and monitor the hotlist and sales order backlog with respect to production volumes, as well as quality hold material and the impact on shipments
    • Work with shipping to coordinate shipments to meet customer needs - i.e., priority shipments and parts listings
    • Forecast customer releases by line and by product and communicate upcoming trends, capacity constraints, overtime requirements, etc. to management
    • New parts set up and maintenance of CMS inventory master files and BOMs
    • Review days on hand report for material that is overstocked and modify incoming purchases accordingly
    • Forecast raw material inventory levels and provide releases to suppliers as necessary and associated action plans for potential issues
    • Coordinate shipping schedules with suppliers and standard pack sizes
    • Responsible for preparing/maintaining CUSMA documents and all communications with external customs/brokerage agent
    • Participate in weekly corporate supply chain calls
    • Work with suppliers on cost cutting, quality issues, etc.
    • Update blanket purchase orders for price changes in raw materials
    • Coordinate production material cycle counts and investigate discrepancies, apply corrective actions as needed

Work Environment:

  • Office Environment and Plant Floor (PPE required)

Physical Demands:

  • Desk work
  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
  • Overtime as required

Health and Safety:

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
