Responsibilities

The Locksmith performs a variety of skilled locksmithing work in all buildings and facilities of the the Central Zone of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.

Responsible for the efficient operation of the locksmithing shop, record keeping, all ordering of supplies, and financial tracking, i.

e. charging back installation and repairs. Ability to work unsupervised, decides on key systems and codes for various departments.

Large responsibility for security and safety of others.

  • Install and update locks and related hardware
  • Disassemble, repair and troubleshoot problems with locks
  • Create (cut) keys from code
  • Assist with entry when keys are lost or broken
  • Maintain equipment, nclusing mater keys, inventory, parts and records
  • Qualifications

  • Grade 12 / GED required
  • One (1) year of related experience required
  • Ability to operate power tools and grinders and use of grease and oils
  • Effective communication skills
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
  • Hours of Work

  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly
