Conduct engineering / architecture / planning options comparisons by undertaking multi- factor assessments to select preferred cost-effective alternatives
Contributes to the development of concepts and principles to achieve objectives in creative and effective ways
Prepare contract drawings and specifications in conjunction with project team for delivery to client
Document study progress / results through the preparation of memos, minutes and reports as a record of events
Provide direction to project team members and support staff through verbal and written instructions and assign work to appropriate individuals
Liaise and with clients to exchange information (project progress) and acts as the primary client contact
Provide technical judgement
Conduct business development activities to secure new projects by client liaison and proposal preparation
Prepare site visit reports by interpreting findings to give clear recommendations and direction to clients
Review shop drawings and design details by analyzing for continuity and viability
Certify professional work
Bachelor’s degree and P.Eng.
10+ years of experience in mechanical systems, specifically related to industrial, institutional, and commercial buildings, preferably in the consulting engineering industry
Strong knowledge of building services, controls, HVAC, plumbing and drainage and fire protection
Experience in project management
Experience in energy conservation work, energy modelling and IAQ
Experience with quality control and production scheduling is preferred - Ability to liaise with clients and contractors
Ability to manage a team of technical staff is an asset
