  • Position Summary :

    Lean COE Program Analyst (Student). The Lean Center of Excellence team is a small team of senior and experienced technology professionals who are tasked to reduce our operating costs.

    We do this by using Lean Six Sigma techniques, and by finding and removing unnecessary or redundant systems and processes.

    We also support the ROT program. ROT refers to systems, technologies and processes that continue to exist, even though the value derived from the systems relative to other options would normally fail to justify their existence.

    Our team is looking for savings at all layers of the business, including technology, applications and business processes.

    The Program Analyst (Student) assists in the delivery of this program in a variety of ways; including process mapping, data extraction and analysis, assisting with the facilitation of Lean events, automation of business processes and preparing executive presentation materials.

    What you’ll do :

    The OE Program Analyst supports the Lean COE program by performing the following duties.

  • Assist with facilitating Lean events, process mapping and analysis and documentation of each step of the Lean DMAIC process.
  • Automating key performance indicators and reporting metrics.
  • Extracting Data from key systems to support the reporting requirements.
  • Data Analysis using statistical techniques to run experiments, draw conclusions and support key decision making and assist with the creation of the data visualization output.
  • Work with the EA team in the automation and extraction of data from our legacy EA (Enterprise Architecture) tool and assist with import to the new EA tool.
  • Gathering and reporting on process baseline details, and subsequent improvements.
  • Creating charts and graphs and assisting stakeholders in the interpretation (understanding) of the data.
  • Support Lean Green and Black Belts, PMs and practitioners

  • Ability to work in a dynamic team, with Senior individuals, and manage and work on large variety of tasks and assignments throughout the term.
  • What you’ve done :

  • Working towards a University degree in Commerce, Economics / Maths, IT or Data Analytics
  • Curious individual, with a 'think outside of the box' mindset
  • Statistical Analysis must have completed an introductory statistics class
  • Familiarity with Excel and using excel to perform data analysis. Familiarity with other stats programs (ie. Minitab) is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Visio, PowerPoint, Word and other popular office products
  • Experience or interest in scripting / programming with tools such as VBA, PowerBI and Excel
  • Exposure or awareness of Lean or six sigma processes
  • Experience or understanding of Agile methodology
  • Basic understanding of Architecture modeling
  • Some exposure to architectural principles as it relates to Enterprise Architecture understanding of current EA methods such as TOGAF or Zachman a plus.
  • Proficiency in a programming language(VBA could be used extensively in this role)
