In this position your primary role will be to take clothed or costumed poses for the group.We have 2 to 3 life drawing sessions per week, and in cooperation with our group coordinators, you'll choose the days you'd like to come.
Each session is 3 to 6 hours dependant on your availability. During the sessions you will maintain a reclining or standing pose for up to 15 to 20 minutes, with 2 to 5 minute breaks as needed to ensure you remain comfortable.
You will interact with the group leaders and artists, as needed, to take direction. Why this position may be ideal for you Models have a special place in the art world.
Not only will you act as live reference to help our group members improve, but you can often inspire and act as a muse for the creation of new artwork.
This position has proven itself ideal for students interested in attending art school & those interested in the arts. Our founders and members are already seniors at OCAD University, or recent grads just emerging into the art world, and can often offer advice for entry into these realms.
Additionally, if you would like, you have the opportunity to learn about lighting, composition, along with scene design, and prop setup.
You will also be provided access to draw and paint with the group during times you are not scheduled to model, and the group leaders will be more than happy to help you learn fundamental to intermediate and advanced concepts, and give you feedback.
We also provide proof of Volunteer Hours and reference letters; therefore, this is especially ideal for those whom require volunteer hours, or are looking to gain a reference for future modelling or other art and work related positions.
