Hillmar Industries is looking to hire a Shop Assistant / Helper.
General shop duties under supervision including providing assembly assistance, parts cleaning, assisting in shop organization and maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS : Academic :
Academic :
Grade 12 diploma preferred.
Courses in mechanical / electrical technology an asset.
Work Experience :
Some mechanical / electrical assembly and / or metal fabrication experience or equivalent preferred. Experience in use of pneumatic tools an asset.
Forklift certification is required.
Other :
Ability to read blueprints, competence in mathematics an asset. Good computer skills an asset. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Assist in organizing, cleaning, pressure washing parts.
Assist assemblers under supervision.
Pallet / crate building.
Crating and packaging for shipping.
Shop maintenance including general weekly cleaning, organizing, odd jobs.
Empty recycling bins, change garbage bags, assist with replenishing paper supply if need be.
Keep an accurate record of time charged to each job.
Full comprehension of safety requirements.
Other duties as required.
