Job Overview :

As an Operations Manager you will be responsible for day to day operations across multiple sites in an assigned area. You will ensure all your sites are compliant with BEST policies and procedures, meeting KPI requirements and aiming for continuous improvement.

LOCATION : Ottawa, Ontario

Responsibilities :

  • Manage and develop assigned region’s operational team to drive revenue growth, team productivity, while promoting customer satisfaction and building long term relationship
  • Hire, on board, and train new Site Managers and Assistant Site Managers
  • Identify, develop, and support growth plans for project works
  • Prepare and manage budgets and ensure expense control for each site
  • Conduct regular debriefs with Site Managers and / or Assistant Site Managers
  • Recommend improvement plans to eliminate revenue leakage by controlling and reducing cost
  • Participate in new contract negotiations
  • Provide senior management with operational activity reports
  • Oversee the training program of new hires
  • Act as a liaison between head office and site management ensuring compliance to policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicate with internal and external clients
  • Conduct annual performance reviews and set goals for each direct report
  • Manage succession plans for assigned region ensuring increased capacity for future growth plan
  • Other duties as required to support contractual needs and business growth.
  • Skills Required :

  • Bi-Lingual - must be able to understand and communicate in French and English
  • Comprehensive understanding of Employment Standards Act & Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong leadership skills, servant mentality
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to deal with sensitive & confidential information
  • Intrinsic ability to effectively analyze, plan, prioritize, negotiate, & execute business’ strategic goals
  • Education & Experience :

  • Post-secondary diploma, degree, or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of operations management experience with a focus on financials, budgets, safety, human resources, sales & service
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving abstract
  • Acceptable security & criminal record check
