We are looking for a Civil CAD Technologist to join our growing Dam Engineering Practice in Canada. This position will be part of a dynamic team of engineers and scientists engaged in a wide range of hydrotechnical and water management projects providing engineering and scientific services from pre-feasibility stage through to final design and construction.

On occasion your expertise may be needed by our parent company Tetra Tech on some of their challenging international projects.

Your Role :

  • Support engineering design by delivering drafting services
  • Provide technical assistance to project teams and complete related quantity takeoffs
  • Support the design team in delivering CAD drawings using Autodesk Civil3D
  • Design water conveyance systems (such as canals, pipelines, etc.), water retention sysytems (such as dams, dykes, etc.
  • hydraulic structures, stormawater management, flood mitigaion and erosion protection and other agriculture and municipal infrastructure

  • Develop digital terrain models to prepare plan and profiles, cross-sections and details for design, tender, and construction drawings
  • Prioritizing work and ensuring all processes and presentation follow company and client standards
  • Working closely with other engineers and drafting personnel in a team environment to meet project deadlines and targets
  • Co-operate with other disciplines to develop complete sets of drawings including civil, geotechnical, and environmental aspects
  • Qualifications :

  • A post-secondary certificate / diploma from a recognized technical school with at least three (3) years of relevant civil engineering design experience
  • Solid knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil3D
  • Knowledge of geospatial data and coordinate systems along with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Aptitude for learning and wiliness to train and to further develop
  • Extensive project experience covering heavy civil, dam, municipal or agriculture infrastructure design
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines (we work hard to limit tight deadlines)
  • Creative problem solver who works in a professional and ethical manner
  • Demonstrated strong work ethics and commitment to safety

    A requirement of working for Tetra Tech is that you are at least 18 years of age and legally entitled to work in Canada without sponsorship.
