Project Manager-Civil Engineering

We are currently looking for a project manager to join our growing client team to continue and grow the business.

Our client based in the Sorel-Tracy region; Founded 35 years ago, it is established in the commercial, industrial and institutional sectors.

The company carries out major projects in all regions of Quebec.

The company; specialized in concrete structures and formwork, as well as in the manufacture of concrete domes; acts as a general contractor for the execution of complex projects in the industrial, institutional and commercial fields.

It focuses on satisfying the expectations of customers and their employees, both in terms of meeting deadlines and budgets allocated to the health and safety of our workers on construction sites.

Over the past 35 years, the company has gained solid expertise, particularly in concrete formwork and in the installation of concrete domes.

The dynamic team stands out for its knowledge, proactivity and innovation, as well as its project management.

The Project Manager is responsible for the planning and execution of various construction projects ranging from $ 500,000 to $ 25,000,000.

He represents the firm with clients, coordinates all the stakeholders involved in the projects and ensures the smooth running of the work and the optimization of the budget, schedule and quality of service report, from the beginning to the end of the year. works.

Main responsibilities

  • Administer, plan and coordinate all stages of a construction project in collaboration with the Superintendent;
  • Establish and respect the deadlines and ensure the progress of the work;
  • Negotiate and award contracts to subcontractors;
  • Ensure communication and coordination with the client, professionals and subcontractors involved in each project;
  • Conduct site visits and supervise the work of the Superintendent and Subcontractors;
  • Review plans and specifications and make recommendations to optimize process and resources;
  • Place purchase orders to suppliers and subcontractors;
  • Participate in site meetings;
  • Rigorously monitor ongoing projects;
  • Manage contingencies and extras in the contract;
  • Prepare billing to customers and subcontractors in collaboration with accounting;
  • Ensure follow-up of the list of deficiencies;
  • Manage conflicts where appropriate and put in place solutions in the best interests of all.
  • Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering;
  • Over 8 years of experience in a similar position for a general contractor in building construction;
  • Leadership and good communication skills;
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
  • PMP certification, an asset;
  • Good knowledge of Quebec's building code;
  • Excellent analytical skills and strong skills in reading plans and specifications;
  • Security card on construction sites (ASP);
  • Mandatory bilingualism (French and English, oral and written).
