Job Overview : The Merchandising Manager s committed to achieving RONA’s Service standards and maximizing sales and gross margin while providing the customers with the best shopping experience possible.
The Merchandising Manager will develop the merchandising team to maximize efficiency and ensure effective placement of product while maintaining RONA Merchandising Standards and respecting customer space.
The Merchandiser and Stock Crew report to the Merchandising Manager.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :
Clearly outline and communicate sales objectives and expectations to all team members on a daily basis
Motivate and influence sales performance with positive feedback and recognition
Increase sales and margin with add on sales and up selling techniques
Build strong and lasting relationships with our retail, professional and commercial customers
Lead by example and initiate contact with every customer. Guide customers to departments and provide products and services
Trust and empower all employees to make decisions and take action to improve every customer experience
Visible on the sales floor to encourage store team to provide excellent customer service to all RONA customers ensuring that they have a unique and consistent customer experience
Ensures maintenance of RONA’s customer service standards - ADAPT, 10’ Rule etc.
Demonstrates and encourages RONA values by considering them in every store decision made and by ensuring team members are encouraged to do the same
Promotes and develops store level priorities that complement National Initiatives by leading by example and empowering team members
Training and Development - Staff Development and Coaching
Develops the merchandising team to maximize their individual and team contributions. Includes training, motivating, and coaching.
Sets clear expectations for service and sales performance results through in-stock position, merchandise placement and flyer execution
Participates in regular professional development and training - including computer assisted training and IC4
Provides opportunity for training and follows up on RONA training programs
Provides regular coaching as well as corrective feedback and discipline when necessary
