Chair in Medical Imaging and Artificial Intelligence (Assistant Professor or above)

The Joint Department of Medical Imaging, University Health Network (UHN), Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and University of Toronto (UofT), are seeking applicants for a Chair in Medical Imaging and Artificial Intelligence (AI) for a five-year term.
The Joint Department of Medical Imaging is comprised of 88 academic radiologists with annual volume of exams of approximately 700,000.
The successful candidate must be eligible for an academic appointment within the Department of Medical Imaging, University of Toronto, at the rank of Assistant Professor or above.
Applications will be accepted until February 28, 2020, or until filled. Position start date is April 1, 2020, or a mutually agreed upon alternate.
The Chair may be used for the development and support of research, education and other scholarly activities in Artificial Intelligence in collaboration with academic radiologists in the Joint Department of Medical Imaging.
The successful candidate should hold a PhD in a field related to imaging analysis, computer vision or artificial intelligence, have at least 2 years of practical or research experience in AI, have a prior publication record as first or senior author in AI and prior experience in projects involving analysis of medical images.
Work experience in collaboration with a Department of Medical Imaging, prior successful grant applications as PI or Co-PI, patents in the field of AI or machine learning and successful graduate student supervision and prior teaching experience are considered valuable assets.
Excellence in scholarly achievements, or track record of collaborative science, productivity, are of benefit. The incumbent will have demonstrated an ability to work collaboratively across disciplines and medical specialties and will develop the field of AI through research, education or other scholarly activities.
The candidate will undertake roles as agreed upon by the site and University of Toronto, such as : research, education & training, partnership development (collaborations, internal and external, knowledge translation and deployment of discoveries into clinical practice and commercialization, plus leadership and advisory roles).
