Job Introduction

The candidate will perform all the duties of a Junior Technician, but also integrate sound problem solving skills and work more independently.

The Intermediate Technician will also be responsible for hand tool calibrations, Cognetins inspections and training of Junior Technicians.

Major Responsibilities

Checking fixture calibrations & GR & R studies Perform annual part layouts, PPAP’s, PIST & PIPC’s, general inspection reports Write, amend and debug CMM programs using CAD and PC-

Dmis Conduct inspection reports to investigate an internal or customer issue Inspection using standard hand metrology tools Ability to administrate the Cognitens systems Work with Karmax Engineering, Customers and suppliers to resolve dimensional concerns Provide layout training as required Perform hand held measuring tool calibrations and the ability to administrate the lab system Safely operate the overhead crane, blue giant and buggy Order supplies as required using the Karmax Purchasing System Manual CMM operation (scribing duties) Acting Supervisor on off-

shifts and when the Supervisor is out of the plant Active with quality and information technology system improvements Assist with APQP tasks and AQP personnel Required to work overtime to meet customer needs and work a three shift rotation.

Knowledge and Education

College Certificate / Diploma in Quality AssuranceGrade 12 Diploma or High School Equivalency Certificate

Work Experience

3 years experience as a Junior Layout Technician or 4 years work experience in a related fieldPcDmis experience is mandatory

Skills and Competencies

Exceptional knowledge and certificate in GD&T.Understanding of the usage and design concepts for part inspection fixtures.

CAD and experience (AutoCAD, CATIA,).Excellent Verbal and Written Communication SkillsGood mathematical, analytical and organizational skills

Work Environment

Must be able to work in various locations within and outside the Manufacturing PlantMust be able to work outside of normal office hours to meet needs of the position with a minimum of supervisionLifting up to 20 kgsExposed periodically to elements such as temperature and noiseOffice environment within a manufacturing operation
