The Lead VFX Editor is responsible for ensuring that all the client cuts are completed and sent in a timely manner and within conforming standards.
They must communicate effectively with their team, the Producers, Coordinators, and management, keeping them informed of status, issues, and general day-to-day information.
This position provides leadership in the Editorial Department as a mentor providing excellent creative editing skills.
Your Role :
Act as primary interface between production, editorial and the studio;
Provide ongoing technical and Editorial support to Data Operations and other VFX departments and their respective supervisors;
Provide ongoing mentorship and supervision to the Editorial staff;
Maintain edits as provided by the client and update sequences internally;
Maintain timelines and construct in scratch dailies suites;
Maintain an organized and structured Editorial pipeline and maintain and update editorial information in FTrack;
Assist in internal film / video projections, and in cutting of the studio’s demos and show reels;
Provide submission QuickTimes and sequences for production and client reviews;
Find creative and technical solutions to various problems faced in relation to editorial;
Review and develop processes to improve departmental efficiency including recommendations for automating repetitive, manual tasks;
Any other related tasks as required.
At least 5 years in Film and TV Shows editing;
Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, including a passion for leading different types of personalities effectively;
Knowledge of editorial systems especially Premiere, Avid and Final Cut;
Must be good at multitasking and able to remain calm under pressure;
Strong technical and problem-solving skills;
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment;
Experience with Linux;
Diligent and meticulous.
