JOB SUMMARY :

The Catering Manager works closely with the Hospitality and Culinary teams to provide catered guests with efficient and organized service.

They are responsible for ensuring that exceptional, premium level hospitality is provided, alcoholic beverages are served safely, food quality and food safety are maintained, and operational standards are followed.

The incumbent is also responsible for planning, preparing, and managing financial budgets, and inventory management to achieve outlined targets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : (Other duties may be assigned as required)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Oversee planning and execution of all internal and external catering events, including but not limited to hockey & lacrosse team and media F&B requirements, concert riders, internal meetings / staff events, staff cafeteria, and offsite events
  • Deliver superior customer service, creating memorable dining and best in class guest experiences through effective hiring, managing, training, and supervising of part-
  • time supervisors and staff

  • Maximize sales potential through guest satisfaction, creating guest leads for future functions
  • Manage the timelines of events, staffing levels, and supervision of the staff, while managing the budget for the event
  • Meet with new clients, provide tours of facilities, and review event details
  • Prepare Banquet Event Orders and contracts to include all specified details
  • Follow up on all post-event responsibilities including rental returns, invoicing, vendor payments, and client payment collection
  • Ensure high food quality in presentation and production for all catering offerings
  • Monitor and ensure the safe service of all alcoholic beverages
  • Ensure adherence to company health, safety, sanitation, and hygiene policies when carrying out job operations
  • Liaise with chefs to plan menus for catering events based on client requests
  • Oversee the procurement and management of specialty items required
  • Plan, prepare, and manage financial budgets to meet set targets; develop and implement strategies for achieving set targets and expectations
  • Manage inventory including monthly counts, system data entry, and stock maintenance for the catering pantry
  • Supervise and manage catering operations for an event to ensure the adequate provision of products
  • Actively participate in the mentorship and support of all team members daily
  • Responsible for administrative duties surrounding submission of staff hours and gratuities
  • REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS :

  • 5+ years of experience supervising / managing a premium food and beverage operation is required
  • Related post-secondary education that supports the role, such as hospitality management
