Job Type : Full-TimeRequired Skills & ExperienceThe Health and Wellness Manager is responsible for the high quality of care and service to the Residents, and oversees the smooth operation of the Nursing and (if applicable) Housekeeping Departments.

As a senior member of the Management Team, this person is required to have an understanding of the operation of the Residence as a whole.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : To ensure the provision of high quality personal care to the Residents including, bathing, dressing assistance, medication administration and mobility.

Develops and updates care plans and also monitors the well-being of the Residents not receiving nursing care.To be able to assume responsibility for the Residence in the absence of the General Manager.

This involves becoming familiar with departmental responsibilities, building systems and emergency procedures.To be involved in the hiring, onboarding and scheduling of Nurses and Personal Support Workers.

This includes monitoring the performance of all team members in the department.Is responsible for the safe administration and storage of medications.

Ensures that the Resident and / or his / her family are involved in decisions affecting his / her care.Ensures a safe environment for the Residents.

Refers reports and records pertinent information related to the Resident’s care to other Nurses and Health Care team members.

Coordinates and / or carries out the action plan related to the prescribed care plan.Establishes priorities based on individual Resident’s needs scheduled activities and adjusts these priorities and activities to manage unanticipated events.

Communicates effectively with physicians, pharmacy, and other professional care providers.Collaborates and communicates with other Department Managers as Resident needs change.

Works with members of the Care Team in the planning, provision and evaluation of care services.Functions within the current practice of nursing and within approved legislation, policies and procedures of the Retirement Homes Act (RHA) and Delmanor.

Is responsible for maintaining and upgrading her / his competence related to clinical practice and professional licensing.

Provides necessary in-service training and orientation of new team members reporting to them.QUALIFICATIONSRegistered with the College of Nurses in the Province of OntarioCurrent Certificate of Competence as Registered Practical Nurse of the College of NursesExperience in Geriatric care an assetExperience working in a similar settingGood Communication Skills in EnglishAt Delmanor our team members are dedicated to delivering the Delmanor Experience to our residents and their guests.
