Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Director, Total Rewards is responsible to research, design and manage a progressive Total Reward programs including compensation programs for Sales and Shared Services, DC pension plan, health benefits and other employee rewards suitable for a high growth technology company.

Compensation Management

  • Responsible for the design and administration of all compensation programs (excluding Executive c-suite) including Sales Bonus plans, shared services variable pay programs, pay framework
  • Evaluate and revises programs in accordance with organizational business strategy, changes in policy direction and trend analysis.
  • Collaborate with CPO and Business partners by providing thoughtful analysis, research and recommendations in all areas of total rewards.
  • Develop tools and materials to communicate Flip’s total reward philosophy.
  • Leads Flipp’s annual salary benchmarking process, including survey selection, analyzing market data, reviewing and providing recommendations for salary adjustments and promotions.
  • Lead the annual salary review and variable pay calculation process aligned with Performance review process
  • Able to educate Flipp coaches’ on Flipp’s compensation philosophy, structure and processes on how we set compensation for our team members.
  • Job Evaluation

  • Maintain Flipp’s s job evaluation system and work with HR and Business stakeholders to evaluate and / or update roles across the organization
  • Regularly assesses compensation structure to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and market competitiveness.
  • Administer Flipp’s pay equity program
  • STI / LTIP

  • Administers the Short term incentive and Long term Incentive communication and updates of plan
  • Help assist CPO with best practice programs in industry to keep up to date and competitive
  • Helps administer Sales Bonus Programs and analyze effectiveness of the bonus program on driving required results
  • RRSP & Benefit Management

  • Assess and manage Flipp’s health benefit, RRSP and other employee reward programs such as fitness and parking. Ensure accurate billing and payment processing from third parties, timely enrolments for eligible staff and respond to escalated employee inquiries regarding these programs.
  • Handle vendor relationships for outsourced benefit programs and work with external providers in evaluating and updating pension and benefit programs, as required.
  • Ensure that all benefit and pension practices adhere to provincial standards and guidelines; stay abreast of legislative and industry changes / trends and adopt and implement as needed.
  • Identify cost saving and or / process streamlining opportunities to maximize Flipp’s pension and benefit spend, while aligning programs with employee needs.
  • Develop communication materials to support employee understanding.
  • Conduct L&L’s to educate team members on value of offerings
  • Reporting and Analytics

  • Assist in the development of dashboards and analytics related to total rewards to assist the business in making talent decisions.
  • Leads the design, implementation and management of reporting and analytics to inform total reward program design and improve value across the organization.
  • Provide analysis on effectiveness of sales bonus programs
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field
  • 8-10 years of experience managing compensation and benefits in a fast-paced environment
  • At least 5 years in a Leadership role managing direct reports is a MUST
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) an asset
  • Strong experience with market surveys and overall pay administration, including managing annual increases around review process and semi-
  • annual bonus calculations.

  • Knowledge and experience developing Sales compensation plans
  • Strong knowledge and experience with job evaluation principles and methodology including design, implementation and maintenance.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Previous experience working in an HR department operating as a partner to the business
  • Excellent knowledge of current HR legislation and Employment Standards and the implications on compensation and benefit.
  • Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment.
  • Experience with Dayforce system or comparable HCM system.
  • Strong business acumen to liaise with managers across the organization.
  • Strong writing, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Attentive to details with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills.
  • Prior experience working at a Management Consulting firm specializing in Compensation Practices an asset
  • Experience setting up management communication programs to explain Compensation principles and practices
