Mindshare is looking for a Manager, Planning with a passion for marketing and a curiosity for media in advertising. This role is in the Client Leadership team and is an integral part in capturing a client's vision to reach the intended audience.

The Media Planners at Mindshare are part psychologists, part scientists, part artists, part entrepreneurs, and part politicians.

We strategize how brands should communicate with people across the myriad of media channels, and how to do that differently from every other brand.

The Manager is responsible for our strategic brand work : comms plans, media strategies, media plans. You will direct the day-to-day account activities for the brand and play a key role in the translation of marketing and advertising objectives into overall media strategies.

You, in partnership with the client marketing teams will lead its deployment to the respective brand teams and optimize it regularly based on business dynamics.

You will be responsible for developing the skills and knowledge of junior staff.


  • Partner with Director on all aspects of communication plan development and recommendations
  • Assist the Director in the negotiation of long-term media contracts
  • Demonstrate full understanding of Client's businesses as basis for all future work
  • Direct marketing and media analyses to support recommendations
  • Seek, investigate, and actively pursue innovative communications opportunities
  • Prepare and present communication plans, including objectives, strategy, and rationale
  • Act as primary planning / buying integration contact for outside agency partners
  • Provide updates to media and agency partners on the status of all account projects
  • Assume ultimate media financial accountability with Client Accounting and agency partners
  • Participate in Client / Agency meetings as the day-to-day product group representative from the media department
  • Ensure integration and coordination between various communications programs
  • Identify and supervise the implementation of approved communication plans and projects
  • Oversee all added value programs / opportunities to ensure smooth execution
  • Delegate work effectively to teach direct reports, as well as deliver seamless work to client
  • Supervise, guide and counsel Sr. Associate(s) and / or Associate(s) on all day-to-day activities
  • Train planning staff in media and marketing disciplines as well as the specifics of the Client's business and industry
  • Vet accuracy, timeliness, and quality of all media group outputs
  • Act with integrity when managing relationships across agency and media partners in order to ensure brand understanding, more effectively sell ideas, and contribute to positive agency evaluations
  • Grow, engage, retain, and recruit the best talent

  • College Diploma or Bachelor's degree, preferably with a concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and communications, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of relevant media experience, media planning preferred
  • Proven experience with client presentation and reporting
  • Knowledge of media buying
  • Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Proficiency with 3rd party syndicated research resources (ComScore, Nielsen, Vividata)
  • Proficiency with media tools (eg. Prisma)
