Job Description

The role of the regional tunnel practice leader will be to support growth of the tunnels and underground business in Central Canada and support Mott MacDonald in its goal to be recognized and marketed as number one in tunnels worldwide.

The regional tunnel practice leader will :

Identify clients in Central Canada that have (or are likely to have) tunnel and trenchless needs. Work with Canada and US tunnel practice leadership and Canadian operations Managers on developing new client relationships.

Participate in national / international industry organizations, committees and working groups.

Develop and maintain Eastern Canada tunneling marketing materials

Determine the viability of a given lead based on likelihood of success due to many factors including relationships, local presence, staff availability etc.

As opportunities develop, keep an up-to-date list of vetted leads / prospects and subsequent backlogs and all tunnel resources needed for pursuit and implementation purposes.

Serve as Project Director / Project Manager / Design Manager / Subject Matter Expert as necessary on key / strategic Tunnel Projects.

Be available for high level project reviews and QA / QC across North America.

Determine staff needs based on Labor Forecasting.

Coordinate and collaborate across North America for work sharing and resource allocation.

Identify external hiring needs; work networks to find candidates;

Mentor and train staff specializing in tunnels and underground engineering.

20+ years Geotechnical, tunneling, underground space experience

Demonstrated leadership capability

Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Canada
