The Opportunity : The Measurement Technologist is an integral role in our business for reducing measurement risks by providing technical advice, processes and controls to maximize the value of our oil and gas products.
This position coordinates with field operations and numerous supporting teams to ensure Canadian Natural creates and maintains cost effective measurement processes that adhere to regulatory compliance.
Key Accountabilities : Work with field operations to align on measurement goals, risks and priorities while providing technical advice on measurement, metering and schematicsEducate operations, engineering, environment, production accounting and field measurement teams on new measurement technologies, procedures and regulatory requirementsFacilitate audits and inspections of production facilities to ensure there are minimal volumetric issuesWork with field measurement resources to identify and coordinate witnessing requirements for meter calibration, proving, and verification activitiesProvide technical advice on joint venture audit issues on third party tie-ins related to measurementEvaluate, test and implement new technology to enhance processes related to measurement and reporting Other Details : Job location : Calgary, Alberta Office Eligible for relocation to CalgaryThis is a safety sensitive positionCompetitive salary, stock options, stock savings plan and benefits Skills & Qualifications : Engineer / Technologist / post-secondary educationFamiliarity with OGC / AER / MER measurement requirements and regulations as well as a field operations backgroundUnderstanding of production accounting, field processes around meter calibrations, gas sampling and schematics maintenanceExperience with Scada, Energy Components, PI, and PVR Why Canadian Natural?
