This position reports to the Accounting Operations and Procurement team in our Office of the Chief Financial Officer sector.
This sector uses financial foresight and legal insight to improve housing affordability.
About the role
We’re constantly evolving to build an inclusive housing system through research, design, innovation and partnerships. You will responsible for the strategic management of CMHC'
s overall travel program. This consists of managing and monitoring the travel service provider agreement, executing the strategic travel supplier related sourcing, providing strategic advice to senior management regarding the travel policy and guidelines as well the development of the corporate cost saving strategies and processes that will positively affects corporate results and traveler experience.
This will help us make housing affordable for everyone in Canada.
What you will need
Undergraduate degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, commerce or in a related field.
Minimum of five years’ experience, including account management, corporate travel and sourcing work experience.
Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to extensively analyze market trends, business processes and workflows.
Solid knowledge of supply and contract management techniques, strategic strategies and negotiation skills.
Knowledge and understanding of Treasury Board Travel policies and guidelines.
Advanced knowledge of Travel Industry trends, travel supplier operations, and developing travel related innovative technology and products.
Advanced ability to present complex information to influence behavior and policy direction.
Advanced communication skills (oral & written) with proven ability to manage discussions at varying levels of difficulty with finesse.
Certification in Travel Management would be an asset.
What you will be doing
Planning and Execution
Leads the development of multi-dimensional travel initiatives, programs, policies and projects that have wide-ranging impact across the Corporation, with responsibilities including the travel budget cost saving measures, communication and timelines.
Negotiates the travel supplier agreements (airlines, hotels, car rentals etc.), as well as the travel management company (TMC) agreements.
Establishes the Statement of Work requirements based on CMHC’s travel program and capitalizes on savings opportunities. "
Provides specific strategic travel industry advice and guidance to senior management to pro-actively develop and plan travel program projects to gain efficiencies and savings.
Manages the Travel Management supplier relationship, identifies and resolves complex issues and disputes.
Responds to corporate-wide inquiries, conducts an analysis to diagnose the problem, determines the proper course of action and escalates issues to Director as needed.
Identifies areas for improvement, develops and implements new processes to monitor all travel related contract performance, reviews reports and pro-actively addresses issues to mitigate risks.
Analyses and monitors supplier risk management plan and ensures compliance with the travel contract agreement and CMHC's travel policy.
Leads and monitors compliance with the travel policy.
Develops and implements travel learning tools and materials for the corporation.
Supports and Assists
Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure timely, accurate and comprehensive monitoring and reporting of process improvement activities related to the travel program.
Supports line of business to ensure they achieve their business objectives through effective use of travel reservation technology, policies and guidelines.
