Essential Responsibilities

  • Leading Sprint / Kaizen events, develop manufacturing models of Wescam’s product families. Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency.
  • Study operations sequence, material flow, and product information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
  • Develop a full factory solution for layout and flow that increases Wescam’s manufacturing capacity and eliminates manufacturing waste.
  • Review production schedules, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
  • Develop standards for maintaining manufacturing models and implementing control procedures.
  • Report labour reporting metrics and first pass yield metrics.
  • Recommend methods for improving utilization of personnel, material, and utilities.
  • Excellent technical communication skills both written and verbal
  • Dynamic, resourceful team member that is known for sense of initiative, urgency and innovation
  • Previous experience with Design layout of equipment and workspace.
  • Experience with Control Plans and Statistical Process Controls
  • AS9100 knowledge and experience an asset, but not required
  • Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering or college diploma in Engineering Technology
  • Minimum 5-10 years of experience in an industrial Engineering capacity
  • Must have a well-rounded Industrial Engineering background with experience in a high tech environment
  • Intimate knowledge of current and advanced Manufacturing processes and technologies such as : Lean / Six Sigma, MRPII, Kanban, JIT
  • Preferred Additional Skills

  • Critical Thinking Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
