Brand Marketing Copywriter

The Brand Marketing Copywriter plays the important role of preparing written marketing communications for Napoleon’s innovative and awarding-winning products in a manner that is memorable, easy-to-read, and informative.

While Napoleon is a proudly Canadian company, this position will also support the company’s tactical plans and growth objectives on a world-wide scale.

Reporting to the Brand Marketing Manager, the copywriter works on projects to support Hearth, Grills and HVAC divisions, which includes support for retail, trade, consumer, online digital website, and internal and external corporate communications.

This role works closely with key functional areas including product management, sales, research and development, and customer experience, and finance to ensure Napoleon’s world class customer experience is delivered via superior products and services.

Key Competencies :

The successful candidate has an exceptional understanding of the English language and the ability to read and write in French would be a valuable asset.

Writing clear, concise, grammatically correct, and compelling content with creativity and a high attention to detail are required to ensure communications are presented with accuracy and will appeal to a target audience, all while maintaining a consistent brand voice.

Exceptional time management, adaptability, self-motivation, organizational skills, and multitasking ability are required.

Key Job Functions :

  • Writing clear, concise, and grammatically correct copy applying various writing styles that engage readers and encourage the sale of a specific product or service.
  • Creating original and creative communications that result in effective and compelling marketing materials for internal and external use.
  • Develop and maintain a clear and consistent brand voice, following commonly used writing style guides.
  • Contribute written material for brand / product catalogues and platforms for each of our unique segments, specifically : brochures, product announcements, price books and presentations.
  • Support content for consumer-packaged goods artwork, primarily, but not limited to, grill accessories.
  • Research and understand the client's needs and target audiences, through online searches, reviews of existing research, interviews and other primary research methods.
  • Write original copy and edit content for a range of corporate marketing and communications materials
  • Collaborate with a team of account executives and marketing staff from concept development to delivery of final product.
  • Help define the approval process.
  • Present copy concepts and final deliverables to internal teams, and to client representatives as needed, and participate in client pitches on occasion.
  • Revise existing copy based on internal and client feedback.
  • Supports global marketing partners / offices by sharing and cross-pollinating best practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of communication and client-related industry trends.
  • Skills / Knowledge / Experience / Education Required :

    Minimum Education : Diploma or University Degree in journalism, english, communications, or related discipline.

    Minimum Years of Experience :

    Software Certifications Required : Strong, applied experience with MS Office applications : Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams.

    Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro.
