The Bid & ProposalManager is responsible to lead and develop the Proposal team. Theproposal team is the primary resource for all engineered motor RFQsand a key technical resource for internal and external customers.
The Bid and Proposal Manager will work with the team to prioritizeall incoming RFQs and communicate the target delivery of theproposal that is in line with customer expectations.
The goal is toensure to provide the cusotmer with the best product or system forits specific application. The team leader will also ensure that theproposal process is followed with the proper approval as per thetable of authority along with supporting documents such asproposal, cost model and factory quotations.
This position is alsoresponsible for supporting the Product Managers, Field Sales andInside Sales to help growth the business and achieve order goals.
Review and comment customer’s specification andrequirements
Review of legal aspect- Terms and Conditions ofSales
Opportunity screening andcontrol workflow
Implement Keyperformance indicators and report to Product Group Managers
Responsible of internal coststructure (FCM)
Approval per Tableof Authority (SOXcompliant)
Communication with ABBfactories for commercial negotiations & technicalclarifications
Initiate kick-offcalls with sales team to review RFQ and establish a gameplan
Team development - increaseskill set and cross training
Processimprovement to streamline process and improve customerresponsiveness
Supervise andparticipate to :
Productdimensioning and selection for LV and MV Motors
Preparation of quotations andprovide assistance for pricing within mandatedtimeframe
Product suggestions,technical support (level 2-3) and competitive crossreferences
Write value addedproposals for low and medium voltageMotors
Negotiation / clarificationphase with customers during bidding process
Customers and Sales team Training
Thecandidate must be able to present technically and commercially theproposed solution to the end users, consultant, technicians,engineers, purchasing manager,etc.
Use of Judgment and initiativenecessary to identify priorities, solve problems, meet schedule,adapt to change and choose the most efficient ways to do thework.
5 years of experience inproposal writing and sales supportroles
Electrical or MechanicalEngineer degree
Sense of urgencyrespect of time commitment
Technicaland commercial knowledge and understanding of IEC & Nema Lowvoltage Motors and Medium VoltageMotors
Be an out of the box thinker able to see other opportunities in businessgrowth
Writing and Speaking Frenchand English (Would be an asset)
Proficient with Microsoft officeproducts, SAP & Salesforce
Easeof using different Configurator and selectiontools
Personal initiative andleadership to complete projects and resolve conflicts orproblems
Ability to handle multipleprojects simultaneously while maintaining high attention todetail
