Job Duties and Responsibilities
Maintaining oven safety and awareness of safety protocol in case of a fire.
Starting / setting-up and shutting down ovens.
Setting-up belt speeds and the packing line including Dropper machines.
Monitoring and adjusting oven temperatures and baking profiles to ensure product meets specifications.
Performing quality tests such as cookie moisture analysis, stack height and diameter checks.
Completing accurate paperwork and data input into Quality Suite.
Identifying and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
Communicating accurately to Maintenance for prompt repair or preventative maintenance.
Participate in Autonomous Maintenance (A.M.) activities (including Sanitation).
Training / cross-training others as needed.
Completion of high school diploma.
Previous production / ovens experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferred.
Flexible to work all shifts (day, afternoon and midnight) including overtime as required.
Commitment to safety and quality, including HACCP, GMPs and WHMIS.
Capable of performing physical requirements of role, including lifting up to 50 kg using proper lifting techniques.
Strong performance record demonstrating reliability and a good attendance record.
Able to communicate clearly in spoken and written English.
Excellent interpersonal skills; positively contributing to a healthy work environment.
Able to work with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail including ability to follow a DPS and complete reports accurately
Strong mechanical aptitude and mathematical skills.
Computer literacy is essential, including MS Office and email. Exposure to Quality Suite preferred.
Demonstrates sense of urgency and has repeatedly shown good judgment.
Proven ability to adapt and quickly learn new tasks.
