The Mood and Anxiety Ambulatory Service is currently seeking one full-time temporary (1 year contract) social worker to provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) treatment to clients with mood, anxiety, who may also have other concurrent disorders and trauma experiences.
This is a new team designed to increase access from primary care to treatment for clients with anxiety and mood disorders.
As a member of an interprofessional team, you will provide client-centered care to support successful integration into their communities and will work within CAMH and at off-
site primary care locations. You will be expected to assess clients for eligibility to the service and to facilitate group programming (using CBT modalities), manage referrals and triage processes, and provide individual support to clients.
Your skills include the ability to make behavioral observations, conduct mental status / risk assessments, monitor clients’ responses to care interventions, documentation and ongoing communication with other team members and primary care partners.
You have a sound knowledge of mood and anxiety disorder treatment, crisis intervention, addiction issues and severe and persistent mental illness.
You must be capable of providing supervision to social work students and contributing to the development of best practices unique to mental health and concurrent disorder treatment.
You will be expected to contribute to program development, research and educational activities of the service. You will support a workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork and complies with all the applicable regulatory and legislative requirements.
This position will involve providing clinical services in the evening and is located at the Queen Street site.
The successful candidate will possess a Masters of Social Work degree combined with 3 years of post-graduate work experience in a health care facility.
The candidate must have direct clinical experience in a mental health or addiction treatment setting. Experience utilizing cognitive behavioural therapy and / or dialectical therapy and motivational interviewing are required.
Preference will be given to those who have certificates in CBT. You will be a registered member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
You must be eligible for an adjunct faculty appointment with the faculties of social work that have affiliation agreements with CAMH.
Knowledge of crisis intervention principles and theory are required. Knowledge of CAMH and community services and experience with formulation and coordination of complex cases is essential.
You possess demonstrated knowledge and experience of mood, anxiety and concurrent disorders and current treatment protocols.
In addition, you possess excellent communication skills allowing you to work collaboratively with community agencies. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written communication skills, computer skills, including experience with an electronic health record is required.
Bilingualism (French / English) would be an asset.

Salary Range : $33.74 - $45.46 per hour
