Role Description

The Human Capital practice in Toronto is currently seeking a Manager for their Organizational Design team. The person will be expected to work primarily with public sector clients, including core Ontario government, broader government agencies, and institutions in a number of sub-

sectors, including healthcare, justice, social services, transportation, and education, among others.

As a manager of the Organization Design team within the Human Capital practice, you will work with and be expected to lead dedicated teams of OD professionals to solve our client’s complex structural issues.

You will also be a part of a public sector community across Human Capital.

Some of the duties and responsibilities attributable to this role include (but are not limited to) :

  • Managing client and key stakeholder’s expectations to help build and sustain long-term relationships.
  • Leading and developing organization design projects across our client’s entire enterprise and / or their specific business units.
  • Supporting the development of our client’s talent and workforce management plans while being mindful of the potential implications of such a reorganization.
  • Leading the use of organizational analytics to identify structural, process and / or people issues and opportunities.
  • The implementation of new organization models and related governance and workforce transition plans.
  • Participate in practice development activities including thought leadership, business development and recruiting.
  • Lead team of consulting practitioners on engagements, balancing client expectation and team members’ capacity and strengths.
  • Achieve expertise in a specialization and a strong reputation as a business advisor.
  • Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate a strong ability in understanding how organizations function, and how human capital and organization effectiveness are enabled.

  • Qualifications

    In addition, in order to succeed as a Manager within this team the following skills, qualifications, and experiences are required :

  • Previous professional services / consulting experience within a reputable firm.
  • Completed undergraduate degree (e.g. Business, Organizational Behaviour, Psychology, etc.) with outstanding academic credentials.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in organization design or a relevant, adjacent field, eg- OD Strategy, Business Transformation, Analytics / Business Intelligence, Human Resources Strategy, Executive compensation.
  • Advanced analytical / management role in government

  • Interest and passion for serving government / public sector clients
  • Comfort with combining both qualitative and quantitative analysis to solve business problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multi priorities and deliver commitments on time.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to deliver high-quality work products.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Ability and experience to coach, counsel and guide clients across all levels of an organization.
  • Ability and experience to anticipate the long term impact of all decisions and take a broad approach to problem solving.
  • Strong commitment to professional and client service excellence.
  • Impeccable verbal and written communication skills.
  • A willingness to travel within Canada as / if required.
  • In addition, candidates who possess the following will be treated with priority :

  • MBA or Post graduate degree and / or a professional designation.
  • Candidates with experience supporting clients in the public sector on transformative initiatives
  • Ability to travel and work internationally.
