Welder - Mig / Tig Welding

Our client is a well-established and growing Tier 1 manufacturer with several plants operating and a view to further acquisitions and expansion.

Business is very good. Profitable, stable and ready to renew systems and procedures to facilitate current and future growth and development.

This role will be a key new addition to the maintenance team and will rotate 8 hour shifts every 2 weeks. Ample OT if desired.

Responsibilities Include :

  • The ability to correctly set-up various welding machines, maximizing their efficiency and effectiveness per application.
  • Performs weld operations using equipment and materials according to Production Package
  • Sets and adjusts production equipment and materials to ensure defect free welds.
  • The ability to interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
  • Regularly inspect in-process and finished parts for defective welds according to work instructions and procedures.
  • Repair welds using various welding techniques.
  • Place or pack finished parts into designated containers and ensure proper labeling as instructed. Ensure all labels are legible and accurate to finished part.
  • Complete required paperwork and computer entries as required. Ensure accuracy of all entries.
  • The ability to work overtime as required.
  • Performs repetitive bending, reaching and lifting actions involving material weighing.
  • Ensure housekeeping duties are performed as a priority to ensure a clean, safe and orderly plant environment.
  • Job Requirements

  • Must be able to perform both MIG and TIG Welding processes
  • Current or expired CWB tickets and asset.
  • Must perform daily inspection of parts
  • Responsible for maintaining productivity and efficiency as per Work Order specifications
  • Must maintain responsible housekeeping of work area
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
