Key Rolesand Responsibilities :

  • Maintenance, testing, troubleshooting and repair of industrial mechanicalequipment (presses, ovens, pumps, molds, dies, etc.)
  • Detect and troubleshoot processing irregularities
  • Assist, report on, and carry-out the development of new automotive products andprocesses with focus on weight reduction
  • Examine parts to detect imperfections and ascertain what changes may berequired to improve product / processing performance
  • Define key process characteristics, materials performance and validationtargets
  • Document project advancements and present recommendations to management
  • Benchmark other Tier 1 process and material capabilities to support company'sR&D prioritization of projects
  • Primary contact with suppliers and equipment providers to identify new interiortechnologies
  • Utilize diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions,and engineering specifications
  • Work in a self-directed manner by managing time and tasks to complete workassigned
  • Computer skills and use of Microsoft office tools (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Attention to detail, reading text, problem solving, decision making
  • Key Qualifications :

  • Technician / Technologist or Multi Skilled Maintenance with a minimum of 3 yearsmanufacturing work experience
  • Preference to a candidate with automotive manufacturing experience
  • Necessary skills include knowledge of machine shop equipment, electronicindustrial systems, PLCs, variable frequency drives, servo drives, powerdistribution, instrumentation, preventative maintenance, human machineinterfaces, hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Experience in plastic processing (e.g. vacuum forming, injection molding,compression molding, extrusion, etc.) considered an asset
  • Able to clearly describe problems to co-workers, operators and contractors
  • Able to read, interpret, prepare or assist in the preparation of documents
  • Ability to work as a team player and is able to work with minimum supervision
