Role Description

The General Manager will report to the Vice President, Operations and Construction and is responsible for the overall performance of Willowbrook Shopping Centre including financial, physical, team leadership, tenant services and risk management.

Willowbrook Shopping Centre, the dominant Regional Shopping Centre in the Fraser Valley, is undergoing an exciting transformation which will feature a 220,000-

square foot Lifestyle Expansion with underground parkade, full centre renovation and remerchandising. These changes will solidify and expand Willowbrook s market position and reach, presenting an excellent opportunity for the right person to participate in the detailed planning stages with input and influence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and foster an environment and practice of Peerless’ service delivery and culture across all functional areas by both team and service providers to Tenants and guests.
  • Direct physical property operations to strive for Best in Class’ curb appeal, effective preventative maintenance, energy conservation and efficiency in service delivery.
  • Leader and mentor the property team to ensure recruitment, training, engagement, performance management and development supports QR culture and values.
  • In collaboration with peers, Marketing and QR Guest Experience, proactively source innovative opportunities to elevate customer / guest and overall tenant experience.
  • Manage and maintain excellent relationships with community stakeholders.
  • Manage the centre’s financial performance including budgeting of revenue, expense and capital, and period forecasting as required.
  • Ensure assertive and consistent accounts receivable management are aligned with QR targets.

  • Maintain, manage and communicate all key metrics including tenant sales, traffic, and other quantitative / qualitative analytics using available tools and provide contextual review and analysis.
  • Partner with corporate resources to ensure compliance and mitigation in Risk Management areas, including OH&S, insurance, environmental management and event risk.
  • Manage the Tenant Coordination program for the property using QR practices and processes in collaboration with VP and Operations Mgr
  • Experience and Qualifications :

  • Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience managing comparable regional retail centre(s)
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration is preferred, in addition to courses in Commercial Property Management (ICSC or CPM)
  • Valid BC Real Estate License (Property Management) or other Canadian jurisdiction with ability to transfer.
  • Demonstrated acumen and interest in the Retail industry.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
