Position Overview :
The Program Manager - EMR Implementation reporting to the Managing Principal - Provider Solutions, will be responsible for planning and managing implementation of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and other technology solutions for large, strategic customers.
Manage delivery of a program to implement EMR and other technology solutions : Where the program is large ($ multimillion), complex and carries significant strategic importance Involving a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including Product Management, Sales, Operations, Customer Support, Marketing & Finance Leveraging large, cross functional teams Focusing on delivering high quality technology solutions to improve patient care
Employ rigorous project management discipline in all delivery work, including for example : status reporting; issues management;
budget management; forecasting; communications; and reporting key performance indicators
Implement strong governance and reporting to key internal and external stakeholders including clear escalation and risk management
Produce and deliver high quality presentations for executive audiences with clear messaging and story line
Proactively identify and resolve program issues, employing strong tactical and critical strategic thinking and engaging organizational resources as required
Required Knowledge :
Ability to leverage cross-functional organizational resources to resolve issues and achieve results
Working knowledge of project management best practices
Working knowledge of program governance best practices
Strong business and financial acumen
Understanding of the Canadian healthcare industry, EMR market, physician practice and clinical processes
Required Skills & Abilities :
Excellent program management and delivery skills
Strong Microsoft (MS) Excel & PowerPoint skills : Ability to construct reports and presentations with well-structured thoughts and presentation style
Ability to proactively identify and implement communication, risk mitigation and issue resolution strategies to ensure program success
Strong tactical and critical strategic thinking capabilities
Excellent interpersonal skills interacting with a wide-range of clinical, information technology (IT) and management professionals, including executives and governance bodies
Proficient at communicating at all levels of an organization
Excellent presentation, listening, and problem solving skills
Required Professional Designation / Certification :
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Business Administration, Health Informatics, Marketing, Health Services Management, clinical profession (e.
g. Nursing, Pharmacy) or related discipline
Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Management Consultant (CMC) or equivalent designation / certification is an asset
Required Experience :
Minimum 7 years of experience working in project management, information systems, health services delivery, and / or clinical systems implementation
Experience leading without formal authority and working collaboratively across groups to achieve results
Experience managing the delivery of complex information technology projects with multiple integration points
