Bring your proven leadership, project management skills, and comprehensive knowledge of automation systems and energy efficient technology to this role as Energy Manager, Energy and Environmental Sustainability for the Lower Mainland Facilities Management team.

Energy and Environmental Sustainability is a leading-edge team responsible for designing, implementing, guiding and leading sustainability strategies for the four local health organizations.

Energy and Environmental Sustainability Want to know more about what you will do every single day?

  • Update the Organizations’ strategic energy management plan and goals by analyzing key performance indicators, identifying energy conservation opportunities and developing action plans.
  • Evaluate and enforce effective conservation practices at assigned locations.
  • Manage project budgets for each energy conservation initiative to ensure successful implementation, and work with assigned staff to analyze energy conservation data and implement appropriate changes to meet sustainability targets for the Organizations.
  • Collect, track, analyze and benchmark utility consumption data and intensity levels for assigned facilities and compares data with other facilities within the Organizations.
  • Identify external incentives / funding sources for implementing energy conservation measures; prepare business cases for energy conservation projects to facilitate conservation and awareness.
  • Manage BC Hydro Power Smart and Fortis BC rebate programs in coordination with Project Managers and Maintenance Operation managers from the Lower Mainland Facilities Management team.
  • Are you passionate about joining our team? We will be looking for you to have :

  • a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Building Technology or related field,
  • a professional designation and additional training in energy management / sustainability,
  • 7 to 10 years’ recent related experience planning, implementing and operationalizing energy management programs in a large complex multi-site environment
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be acceptable Competencies :

    This Regular Full Time opportunity will be based either at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster or Central City in Surrey, BC.
