Your role at Deloitte
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL, NoSQL, on-
premises or cloud including big data’ technologies.
Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements. Ingest data sets provided to team.
Prepare Analytical datasets (ADS) to support the data science and modeling / AI team in building and deploying statistical models (e.
g., predictive models) to support client engagements.
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management. Build and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture.
Use ETL tools such as SSIS, Informatica or similar tools
Use data mining and analytical tools (Microsoft SSAS, Hadoop, Impala, Spark and other proprietary software) to query large data sets.
Be able to discover patterns, analyze and filter data to deliver targeted information.
Create and document data models to host client data for relational data, dimensional data, NoSQL, graph, unstructured data.
Maintain, develop, and enhance data quality procedures and controls.
Identify, design, and implement internal process improvements : automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-
designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
Work with stakeholders including the Strategy, Product, Data and Design teams to assist with data-related technical issues and support their data infrastructure needs.
Work with the lead of data architecture to implement data management standards.
Share your knowledge and experiences with the team.
Provide production support and on-call support when needed.
External Posting Qualifications
Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases including SQL Server, Oracle.
5+ years of experience in Database / BI development
Experience building and optimizing big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets.
Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Experience in supporting multiple production environments including debugging production issues. 3 5 years
Build processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
Must have data modeling skills to address relational data, dimensional data, NoSQL, graph, unstructured data, and master data (3-4 years)
A successful history of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Strong capability to understand relevant business parameters along with an ability to select appropriate processes or procedures from multiple options.
A proven ability to work independently to determine, articulate and solve a problem.
Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
A University degree in Computer Science, Information Management or related field is required.
Candidate with 5+ years of experience in a Data Engineer role, who has attained a University degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems or another quantitative field.
An advanced degree is preferred.
Candidate should also have experience using the following software / tools :
RDMS (SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL databases.
big data technologies : Hadoop, Hive, HBase, Spark / PySpark, Kafka, etc.
AWS cloud services : EC2, EMR, RDS, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue
Microsoft Azure cloud services : SQL Database, Cosmos DB, Data Factory, HDInsight, Function App
data pipeline and workflow management tools
ETL, Data Quality and Data Cleansing, and Master Data Management tools
Stream-processing systems : Storm, Spark-Streaming, etc.
Programming competency with Python (or any object-oriented programming language like Java, C++), shell scripting languages (for Windows and Linux).
