Design and develop customer requested features for wireless networking device driver on Windows, Linux or embedded operating systems.
Required skills :
5 + years experience with 802.11 driver level wireless communications
Proficient with C / C++
Experience implementing drivers for the following physical interfaces : Ethernet, USB, Bluetooth, Firewire, ATM, or DSL.
Experience working with embedded controller boards, knowledge of the following processors : Intel, ARM, PowerPC, MIPS
Extensive experience programming embedded systems and working closely with the hardware.
Desired skills :
802.11e ( WMM SA, BlockAck) implementation experience.
802.11i (WPA, WPA2) implementation experience.
802.11n, 11k, 11v, 11r
Deep knowledge of RTOS internals.
Educational requirements and other skills :
B.S. and or M.S. in computer science or engineering.
Self starter with strong leadership skills
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
Strong communication skills.
Software process experience (CMMI, ISO 9001)
Responsibilities : Daily (ongoing)
Provide technical leadership
Provide support to PMs when required
Provide support to sales for proposals including :
Delegating writing of proposal to your PMs
Reviewing of proposals written by your PMs
Phone support by your or one of your PMs with potential customer when needed
Provide support for developer hiring including :
Review resumes of potential candidates.
Coordinate interviews by PMs
Provide recommendations for hiring.
Provide recommendations for continuous process improvement.
Project responsibilities include (except your own projects) :
Review and acceptance of PQP
Review and acceptance of Schedules
Review and acceptance of Code Reviews
Review and acceptance of Change Orders
Conduct weekly status meeting with your PM
Analyze time sheets to insure that administrative time is reasonable.
Provide weekly summary report to the VP of development
Participate in weekly status meeting with the VP of development to cover
Conduct performance reviews on your PMs and team members.
Review performance reviews done by your PMs on their team members.
Recommend (quarterly) candidate for President’s award.
Help plan agenda for annual PM meeting
Participate in annual PM meeting
Help with the company business plan including :
Participate in conducting salary reviews and recommendations
