Be part of a newly formed team excited to tour in a traditional circus environment and travel together to towns, cities and countries where no other Cirque du Soleil show has gone before!While on tour as Information Technology (IT) Technician, you will be the key reference for all IT needs and systems support with regards to the show’s networks, platforms and equipment, including software used in support of Box Office operations and commercial activities.
You will also provide end-user assistance and basic training. Your role will be to : -Manage all IT systems and equipment (ordering, installation, user accounts, access and maintenance of cables, equipment inventory and use) in accordance with Cirque du Soleil’s standards / policies;
Manage corporate cellular phones with a constant focus on cost-saving options through data management and customized applications, supporting employees and facilitating billing between the service provider and Cirque du Soleil;
Diagnose and solve all issues (software and hardware) associated with the technological environment on tour (iPhones, Vonage, customized applications, etc.
Liaise between International Headquarters, the Touring Shows Division and the tour;-Ensure corporate policies regarding information technologies are applied;
Carry out monthly computer backups and updates, and manage security copies;-Support tour employees with incidents, requests and IT requirements, along with providing basic training to users;
Place orders (via promoters) for the installation and cancellation of services, and follow up;-In collaboration with the Sales & Customer Services Manager, administer platforms associated with the tour’s various commercial activities, assist in generating sales and inventory reports;
Provide 24 / 7 on-call support for major incidents. You will also contribute by : -Liaising with different teams based in Montreal;
Participate in technical maintenance and support for show tracks; -Operating follow spot during performances and rehearsals, as needed-
Replacing technicians in various positions during the show, when required;-Assisting with maintenance, repair and modification of lighting equipment;
when needed.-Participating in all set up and tear down activities and all other tasks required by managers to support colleagues.
We would like to meet you if you have : -Pertinent experience in IT environment, touring experience is an asset;-College-
level diploma in IT or a related field;-Excellent proficiency using Microsoft Windows XP and 7, Microsoft Office 2007 and 2010, and Symantec Antivirus;
Knowledge of a server environment and management of its components (routers, access points, switches, VLAN, VPN, DHCP and DNS);
Customer service focus;-Positive mindset and an adventure-seeking personality;-Ability to work well under pressure and under challenging weather conditions;
Fluency in English; be at ease to operate within the international environment of Cirque du Soleil;-Availability to tour full time and to work in foreign countries.
