AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND JOB DUTIES :
Ensuring that the truck, trailer and tire maintenance areas are functioning effectively and efficiently through Òon the floorÓ presence throughout the course of the shift.
Ensuring that the output of work by team members is done in a timely manner and that everyone is focused on high priority equipment and meeting operational needs
Includes ensuring that all maintenance and repairs are done promptly and properly
Ensuring preventative maintenance and any other company policies and / or procedures are followed
Creating electronic repair orders, assigning technicians jobs daily and creating work schedules for Maintenance staff
Maintaining paperwork associated with day to day operations
Providing leadership to all aspects of the shop, including providing a motivating environment through the application of team building practices including regular performance reviews, feedback and coaching
Daily communication with your team and shop managers.
Maintaining a safe work environment, through corrective action and education
Maintaining positive cross-functional working relationships
Continuous Improvement : Continually strives to improve work processes, methods, environment, customer service, personal and team performance.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Good attention to detail
Ability to interact in a professional manner with customers and colleagues
Must have current Class 310T Mechanics License
Previous experience working as a licensed 310T mechanic
Minimum 2 years of experience supervising a shop
Must have completed high school; post-secondary education is an asset
Transportation experience preferred
