Description

As a member of the Finance team, the Finance Lead contributes to the development of PRHC’s multi-year operating budget while providing leadership and support to the finance team.

The incumbent is also responsible for ensuring accuracy of financial reporting and financial submissions to the Ministry of Health and LHIN while adhering to related deadlines for areas of responsibility.

The Lead is a key stakeholder in the process for the development of new initiatives.

The Finance Lead provides leadership during the monthly financial close, variance reporting and demonstrates a proactive approach to continuous improvement within the organization.

The Lead assists in the design and maintenance of an effective internal control environment and ensures that all PRHC’s financial reporting is in accordance with PSAS, GAAP, and Ontario Hospital Reporting Standards (OHRS).

QUALIFICATIONS :
  • CPA designation.
  • CPA designation.
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or equivalent.
  • Five years accounting experience, one year supervisory experience.Healthcare sector experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of financial reporting, GAAP and PSAS.
  • Knowledge of internal controls.
  • High standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Knowledge and experience with Ontario Health Care Reporting (OHRS) guidelines preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience with Health System Funding Reform (HSFR) funding preferred.
  • Ability to engage stakeholders, understand business objectives / requirements, develop performance measures and design reports and analytical tools tailored towards stakeholder and organizational needs to establish trends and help draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to stay knowledgeable about, research and reach well-reasoned conclusions on funding methodologies and technical accounting issues.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism.
  • Excellent working knowledge of financial systems, as well as proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Infinium and Meditech would be an asset.

  • Strong human resources management skills.
  • Strategic thinking and leadership experience with an emphasis on relationship management and communication at all levels within an organization.
  • Facilitate and coordinate multiple deadlines, create cohesive teams, and respond quickly to management requests.

  • Proven ability to perform under pressure and stress and to adjust plans to meet changing needs and requirements.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication, including written, verbal and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with a dynamic team of professionals and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain a good attendance record and meet the performance standards of the Health Centre.
