The Financial Analyst Trainee is responsible for Underwriting Contract Surety, managing a portfolio of client accounts, underwriting a variety of surety bonds including some commercial bonds (license, permit fiduciary).
He / she will manage relationships with clients and their brokers, be responsible for business development and retention, analyze financial statements and supporting documents such as work on hand reports, aged account receivable and payable lists, bank and credit reports for the purpose of recommending surety bond facilities for new and existing clientele.
Preparing written underwriting reviews, data entry using our surety database, filing documents electronically and in paper form.
The use of a personal vehicle is required occasionally (reimbursed per kilometer).
University degree in Business, Economics, and / or Accounting is preferred.
A working knowledge of financial statements is required. Experience in credit, accounting, insurance or construction is preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite of products;
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong marketing and negotiation skills are mandatory;
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a high-volume, fast-paced environment are necessary;
Highly developed analytical and judgment skills required;
Strong decision-making ability;
