The Fire Product Specialist will provide product support for multiple brands of Fire D&A products to the Canadian markets, including the coordination and preparation of all documentation as required for new and existing products.
Responsible for arranging vendor meetings to find products needed to compliment the Fire D&A portfolio. Will be responsible for providing assistance and back filling when necessary with the fulfillment of fire service and new project quotation requests for branches across Canada and providing input to all departments to ensure the successful introduction and application of fire products.
Key Job Responsibilities :
Interpret specifications and plans on complex systems and provide compliance feedback to the sales rep.
Provide direct support for branch office technical sales representatives and our customers, including technical support to assist in designing, selling and presenting, and project / system co-ordination.
Assist in initiating and maintaining effective and efficient cost and technical data procurement and supplier literature.
Identifying new product opportunities and ensuring that related requirements are defined, so as to meet market needs and profit objectives.
Recommend and submit pricing strategies, as well as advertising and promotional ideas.
Develop or co-ordinate the development of solutions to situations that cannot be resolved by other departments requiring the sourcing of specialty products or designing to complete projects.
Familiar with and able to interpret North American and International codes and standards as they apply to products and installations (ULC, CSA, NBC, CEC, DFC, OBC, NFPA, BSI, specific provincial codes).
Be knowledgeable on major competitors and their prime products.
Assist in training programs for new sales personnel and customers
Provide input into product design where goods or services must be tailored to suit clients' needs and the market
Develop reports and proposals as part of sales presentations to illustrate benefits from use of goods or service and products
Estimate costs of installing and maintaining equipment or service
Provide ongoing after sales and product support
Job Type Full-time Salary Grade Job Requirements Education / Technical Requirements :
3 - 5 years of fire marketing / product management and / or sales experience.
Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems such as HP is a plus
Working knowledge of ULC (institution that regulates most financial devices in buildings) Fire standards is required
knowledge of network, electronic communications and integration between databases
Bachelor or Diploma in Electronics / Technology, or equivalent industry experience
Electronic or Computer Engineering Technology is required to understand electronic communication between devices
Strong financial skills and / or experience working with numbers and spreadsheets
Technical background with strong pricing skills.
Good communication skills
Verbal and written English proficiency is a must as the candidate will support sales teams across Canada
