Position Description

Kinder Morgan’s Canadian terminal network is expanding. Located in one of the busiest port cities in North America, our Vancouver Wharves’ location is one of the largest terminals on the West Coast and handles both liquids and bulk products.

We are seeking candidates who will help us grow our bulk operations at the terminal.

The purpose of this role is to ensure all activities on Area Engineering capital and maintenance projects are performed in a safe and regulatory compliant manner.

This position will assist the project manager by writing work permits and supervising contractors in the field.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Conducting site orientations with contractors
  • Completing work permits for all third parties engaged in work at the site
  • Coordination of third party work
  • Ensuring contractors are complying with all KM safety, quality, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Conducting incident investigations as required
  • Attend contractor daily work meetings ensuring that appropriate Job Hazard Analyses are developed for all tasks performed.
  • Ensure appropriate PPE is worn by contract and KM personnel on the job site at all times.
  • Ensure contractor incidents are promptly and correctly entered into IMPACT incident tracking system.
  • Conduct incident investigations.
  • Coordinating project work as assigned by the Project Manager
  • Position Requirements

  • Three (3) years of project related experience minimum.
  • High school Diploma NCSO Certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
  • Work with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
