Participate in preparing project design and construction plans and specifications.

Design intakes, penstocks and powerhouses.

Perform other technical tasks to help carry out projects.

Assist in construction site inspections and audits.

Contribute to work planning, organization and evaluation.

Participate in preparing estimates, tally sheets, schedules, budgets, specifications and reports.

When required, participate in supervising and commissioning engineering solutions.

Ensure quality control of the work of engineers and draftspersons.

Evaluate client satisfaction and maintain close and harmonious relations with the client or its representatives.

Coordinate the on-site work of contractors and supervise the work.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Professional Engineer and member of the APEGBC or similar provincially regulated authority
  • Good communication and report writing skills
  • Solid knowledge of structural design software such as SAP2000, ETABS, Safe, Visual Design,
  • QuickFooting, ShapeBuilder and Mathcad
  • Applied experience in designing hydraulic structures, transmission lines, powerhouses and intake structures
  • Experience in dynamic analysis, seismic analysis and finite element analysis of steel and concrete structures
  • Applied experience in the entire design process (from conceptual studies to detailed design)
  • Proven track record in coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams
  • Ability to travel and perform site work, where required

  • Asset : APEGBC Structural Engineer designation
