Island Health is looking for a senior Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) resource to join the Unix Services operational support team.

This resource will provide and perform senior RHEL systems administration and operational support for our RHEL infrastructure and applications delivery services.

Responsibilities include :

  • Provide day-to-day operational support and administration for any / all technologies supported by the Unix Services team, including but not limited to any 6.
  • x or 7.x versions of Redhat Enterprise Linux, RHEL Cluster Services, Veritas Cluster Services, Redhat Satellite, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Nagios, Tripwire technologies, integration with SAN-

    based Enterprise Storage, VMWare and HPE DL series hardware technologies.

  • Monitor, identify, troubleshoot and resolve problems within the RHEL infrastructure and environment as they arise.
  • Work within and adhere to Island Health’s IMIT Change / Incident / Problem Management systems and processes while providing support to operational clinical and business systems and services.
  • Assist with implementation of new technologies, services and upgrades as required.
  • Represent the team and the technologies as a subject matter expect as required for meetings, consultations and engagements.
  • Report to and take daily work direction and prioritization from the Unix Services Team Lead and / or Manager as directed.
  • Participate in an after-hours on-call support with other members of the team to provide a 1-in-4 weekly support rotation.
  • Qualifications

    Along with your degree or diploma in computer science, you have five years’ related experience working with Linux Hosting Services solutions and technologies (or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience).
