Position Summary : The Inventory Planner / US Centralized Purchasing is responsible for inbound freight management as well as managing balanced inventory levels for one or more distribution centres.

These activities include, but are not limited to, forecasting sales and replenishment of distribution centre inventories, calculating promotional sales lifts and post promo sales decreases, and working with the DC to manage product flow based on space constraints and receiving schedules.

This position ensures maintenance of optimal safety stock levels to ensure no breaks in supply to restaurants, while supporting Distribution Centre objectives.

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to : Inventory Planning : Manage balanced inventory levels for one or more distribution centresMaintain optimal safety stock levels to ensure no breaks in supply to restaurants.

  • Identify and action product code date concerns.Monitor overstocks and take appropriate action to resolve pending issuesWork with DCs to clear obsolete inventoriesPartner with other DCs on resolving inventory issues;
  • coordinate branch transfers as necessaryArrange contingency shipments or branch transfers to ensure adequate inventory in DC’sForecast sales by employing available tools to replenish DC inventories while adhering to minimum order quantities and inbound freight parameters.

    Develop a knowledge and understanding of promotional & Seasonal sales patterns to assist in the selection and use of forecasting tools.

    Ensure accurate system maintenance for all ordering parametersCalculate and implement seasonal & promotional sales lifts and post promo sales decreases, in conjunction with EAS, ROP and historical sales data.

    Ensure seamless integration of new / changed items into regular purchase planning while maintaining optimal inventory levels.

    Work with DCs to manage product flow based on space constraints, receiving schedules and Havi RFE metrics while maximizing Inventory turnsMaintain appropriate supplier lead times while minimizing rush orders / changesDevelop and maintain productive relationships with internal an external stakeholders ( DC’s Vendors , Havi & LXP )Maintain effective communication networks with DC’s and all system partners.

    Identify and report to Pod EAS representative / Operations Analyst any forecasting issues with, ROP & EASRecommend / Negotiate efficient (pallet) order multiple purchase with supplier and HaviWork with suppliers, LXP & HAVI on resolving recurring product quality & service issues In-

    Bound Freight Management (in collaboration with LXP)Trace / expedite shipmentsPerform analysis on KPIs (order changes & short lead times)Participate in DC Promotional Calls and Team POD meetings.
