As WestJet becomes more complex and dynamic, we are seeking a Head of eCommerce reporting into our Digital & Innovation office.
This individual can exhibit a high standard of excellence, enjoys challenges, and is results-driven. The incumbent must be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work in an agile environment.
Working alongside the Head of Digital Products you will be a key member of the strategic leadership team that will set the Digital direction of WestJet.
You will be responsible for setting the eCommerce strategic direction through leading leaders of strong business and technical teams.
This position has full end to end accountability of eCommerce Products from business development, software development, DevOps and maintenance.
This role can be positioned in Calgary AB, or Toronto ON.
Foster the strategic direction for the WestJet direct channels to achieve revenue growth, including major site enhancements and development of projects to achieve high scores for customer conversion and guest experience.
Lead, develop and inspire a highly skilled team of leaders, including aligning strategy, recruitment, career development and performance with a focus on enhancing employee engagement.
Build a strong presence in the industry - by providing thought leadership and building strong partnerships in the space.
Establish an eCommerce strategy that out paces the competition, sets the industry standard for driving revenue, and guest experience through data driven decisions and A / B testing.
Cultivate engineering and operational excellence through metrics and continuous learning.
Provide thought leadership and establish business and technical vision for the team.
Design and develop state-of-the-art approaches to solving complex and ambiguous problems.
Mentor and coach high performing leaders, software development engineers, product owners, UX / UI and DevOps through empowerment and recognition.
Establish Objectives & Key Results (OKRs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for their team and product delivery aligned with WestJet's Commercial, Corporate goals and targets.
Professional Qualifications :
Recognized diploma at a college / technical school or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 15 years of experience in a related discipline (Leadership, Software Development, Software Architecture, Product Management, eCommerce, DevOps, Design, UX, and Mobile Applications).
principles of target markets and customer segments; SCRUM / Agile development; digital commerce in the travel industry or other e-commerce industries.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Excellent analytical, problem solving, goal orientated, and relationship building skills.
Excellent communication skills through storytelling, both oral and written.
Ability to present ideas, negotiate, facilitate and problem solve.
Team player works to ensure team goals are met or exceeded.
