The Institute for Quantum Science and Technology , Department of Physics and Astronomy in the Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary is accepting applications for two Postdoctoral Scholars in quantum networks.
The position is supported by the Quantum Alberta Quantum Networks Project
Job Description :
The postdoctoral scholars will work on quantum networks including protocols, information security, architecture, systems, devices, and components.
A significant part of the project involves planning and developing a ground station for quantum communication via satellite.
One postdoctoral position is for experimental study and the other postdoctoral position is for theoretical study, jointly supervised by Daniel Oblak and Barry Sanders.
The postdoctoral scholars are expected to present research advances in Institute seminars, workshops, conferences, internal project reports and in refereed journal and conference publications.
The successful candidate must hold a PhD or equivalent, demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, and have an excellent research track record in quantum information or related discipline.
Proficient computational skills, experience with photonics and / or free-space optical links, software experience, and significant breadth of scientific knowledge are highly desirable.
