Welcome to Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre - Atlantic Canada's first resort, spa and convention centre facility. Far away from the everyday, but only 45 minutes from Halifax!

We are searching for four (4) energetic, welcoming and organized individuals to join our Food & Beverage crew in the La Vista Dining Room for the busy summer season.
Our ideal Host / Greeter is passionate about creating first impressions and exceptional moments for those who dine with us.
These are temporary, part-time opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to) :
Be the first point of contact, greeting guests with enthusiasm and sincerity in a prompt and professional manner.
Seat guests taking into account section assignments, guest preferences, size of party, reservations and servers.
Ensure proper telephone and reservation procedures are adhered to
Ensure special requests / previous arrangements are confirmed before seating guests, and communicated to the server
Inform guests of special features, promotions, daily specials, and soup of the day
Ensure guests are seated and menus are presented
Promote guest satisfaction by performing floor walks to identify tables which may need service
Perform other tasks as assigned by management
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS & EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS :
Passionate about guest service with an eye for detail
Enthusiastic & well spoken
Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
Positive and professional demeanor and presentation
Good organizational skills with the ability to take on numerous responsibilities with ease
Diploma or degree from a recognized hospitality management program or equivalent experience preferred
Must have previous customer service experience
Must have food & beverage knowledge
Positive, professional attitude and presentation
Able to work various shifts including breakfast, lunch and dinner service
Must be flexible in availability including weekends, days, evenings and required holidays.
