Platform Engineer

Job Description

Cryptocurrencies are volatile. Some say the tech, and its marketplace, looks like the early internet did - a digital wild west.

Others say it’s just a silly pipe dream. Many on both sides agree that most ICOs are poor investments at best, and possibly scams.

Regardless, the market is a reality.

Shouldn’t someone build a platform, and financial products, that to capitalize on this market while shielding investors from the turbulence of it?

Well, they are.

Our client partner is, as much as anyone can be, a veteran in this space and related startups. Ateam that understands the rigors of building successful startups and scaleups first hand, they have not only built one of the first trading platforms for both crypto and fiat currencies, but laid the groundwork for products that could change the game for institutional investors.

Well-funded, they are expanding their offering and looking for a few key players who want to share in both the risk and reward.

That doesn’t mean this will be a mostly equity play for you though. Rather, they just want people who are excited by the space, are opinionated enough to affect architecture and help drive the roadmap as they grow.

Compensation models will be somewhat similar to a traditional hedge fund, providing both the security of a decent base salary and the opportunity that comes with uncapped upside.

Your contributions will not go unnoticed. As a Platform Engineer, you will be seen as a revenue generator, rather than as a cost centre, and rewarded accordingly.

As the platform is continuously evolving, the tech stack isn’t set in stone, so there will be room for your ideas. However, the core platform is currently Scala.

Not necessarily focused on any particular expertise, but ideally looking for Senior Software Engineers who have a significant understanding Scala or Java, and / or C++ and JavaScript, as well as experience with massive scalability challenges, implementing CI / CD processes, cryptography, microthreading, microservices, and other design concepts relative to a trading-

oriented software architecture.
